ENGAGE Media Training | EDINBURGH | David Robertson
September 13 @ 10:00 am - 4:00 pm£40
ENGAGE Media Training Conference
…is a one day, live event with lectures and Q & A sessions. It is for Christian leaders in ministry, politics and public service. Facilitated by David Robertson of Solas Centre for Public Christianity.
Christianity is truth, and will always have reality on its side. However, it also has an image problem. Sadly, the Good News is not always well represented in TV, radio, print or social media.
What is the effect? We walk away from amazing opportunities, out of fear of being misquoted, misrepresented or caught off balance in an interview.
Yet our congregations, constituents, and fellow believers need us to wade out into the murky waters of the media to ENGAGE for Christ. Why? Because the secular media represents an opportunity, not a threat.
Not everyone will be comfortable with the media spotlight, and not everyone will have the same opportunities. Nevertheless, without preparation and training, most will not have the confidence to match their opportunities to ENGAGE.
Thankfully, diplomacy and effective communication are skill sets that most can learn. These need to be coupled to a theological and philosophical understanding of how secular audiences receive media messages. We want to equip you in both these aspects. This training day will equip you to handle the gospel in the media with increased assurance.
“Let your speech always be with grace, seasoned, as it were, with salt, so that you may know how you should respond to each person.” [Colossians 4:6]
