Leaving a gift in your Will, often called a legacy, is a meaningful way of making a lasting investment in the causes you love. It is also easier than you might think! A gift to Solas will help ensure future generations are equipped to share the gospel in an ever-changing world.

Why Leave a Legacy

Christians are conscious of eternity and our hope of salvation extends beyond this life. On this earth, we are called to steward our resources wisely, knowing that we can’t take anything with us to Heaven. Writing and keeping a Will continues the good stewardship of your God-given resources after your death. After first providing for your family, investing in Christian ministry can be a great way to continue building God’s Kingdom for years to come.

“But store up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where moths and vermin do not destroy, and where thieves do not break in and steal. For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.” Matthew 6:20-21 (NIV)

How to Leave a Legacy

All you need to leave a gift in your Will is to provide the registered name and charity number to your solicitor. Ours is Solas (Centre for Public Christianity), and our registration number is SC041613.

Your will writer will help you decide on how you much you want to give – a percentage of your estate or a specific amount. We value all gifts towards our ministry, large or small.

The knowledgable folks over at Stewardship have written a helpful, Bible-based guide to the full process and potential benefits of leaving gifts to charity in your Will. You can download their guide here.
