Confident Christianity Afternoon Conference – Inverness

June 28 @ 2:00 pm 4:00 pm

Do you ever find it difficult to speak about your faith in Jesus with confidence?

Do questions about suffering, truth, science, or the reliability of the Bible ever leave you wondering how best to respond?

In today’s sceptical and fast-moving culture, many Christians feel unsure about how to share their faith naturally and thoughtfully. That’s why the Discipleship and Evangelism Department of the Scottish Mission Seventh-day Adventist (SDA) Church is hosting a Confident Christianity Afternoon Conference with speaker Steve Osmond.

What Is Confident Christianity?

Confident Christianity events are designed to equip ordinary Christians to:

  • Talk about Jesus more naturally and thoughtfully
  • Engage well with big questions and common objections
  • Grow in confidence in representing the Christian faith in everyday life

The conference will include two engaging talks from Steve Osmond, followed by an open Q&A session, where you can ask honest questions about life and faith!

Speaker Info

Steve Osmond is a full-time speaker and writer for Solas, focussing primarily on Scotland. He is enthusiastic about evangelism and regularly speaks at universities around the country on the big questions of life and the truth of Christianity from a range of perspectives. He also spends much of his time working with churches and other Christian groups, both to grow their faith and equip them to share their faith in Jesus persuasively.

Free Event! Everyone is warmly welcome.

Talk 1 – Conversations that Count
For many Christians, the thought of evangelism is something that fills them with anxiety and fear. What if there are questions that I can’t answer? What if they disagree with me? What if I just look like an idiot? Rather than trying to have all the answers, this talk will help prepare you to become better in having good conversations that will lead you to sharing your faith in Jesus more naturally and confidently.

Talk 2 – Where Is God in the Midst of Suffering?
The Bible teaches us that God is all-powerful, all-knowing. and all-good. But why would God allow suffering, and where is He when we are in the midst of it? This is both a common objection from sceptics as well as a question that just about every Christian will wrestle with at some point. This talk is an introduction to the problem of evil and suffering that will touch on some of the issues raised by sceptics but focus on a pastoral response rooted in God’s love.

Whether you feel confident already or nervous about evangelism, this event will encourage and equip you to speak about Jesus with clarity and hope.
